Under the brand of ride.is, Kria Cycles runs bike tours and also hire bikes of various types. Around central Reykjavík we have partnered up with the major hostels – Reykjavík Backpackers, Reykjavík City and Reykjavík Downtown. From all of these hostels you can either hire our town bikes for touring the city, or book one of our mountain bike day trips. From Kria Cycles HQ you can hire both town bikes and full-suspension mtb's, safe in the knowledge you're hiring from a reputable bike firm. All our bikes are from Specialized or Globe. 

Mountain Bike trips 

From relatively easy gravel road tracks, to the technically demanding all mountain routes in the highlands, we aim to provide you with a safe and knowledgeable bicycle trip to remember. The routes we offer cover some wide ranging areas, and cater for all levels of mountain biker. Our main selection of routes can all be covered in days ride, and many of our day trips can be combined into multi day excursions. For those desiring something different, custom routes can be tailored to your desires and according to what you’d like to experience. For a taste of the local single track/all mountain hang out, we can take a 2-ride day trip to the Reykjadalur/Hengill area. A bit further afield, Landmannalaugar provides a base for many spectacular all mountain hike and bike rides through varied and epic scenery, taking in lava fields, volcano’s, yellow sands, lush greenery, glaciers and hot springs. Though some of the highland trips are only possible during the summer months, we are operating all year round – it may be a little colder, but riding through frost covered trees and seeing the sunrise on a crisp winter morning in the Heiðmörk Nature Reserve can really lift the spirits and be a unforgettable experience.
